Jim Hickey, weatherman from ONE News NZ, stopped by Hobbiton in Matamata, and talked with a friend of the Middle-earth Network, Ian Brodie. He gave Hickey a tour of some of the hobbit holes used in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, as well as the upcoming Hobbit movies.
Brodie said, “This year we’re going to have over sixty thousand people see the film set.” Hickey called him “The Squire from the Shire,” and they both shared a laugh. I think that name sounds perfect for our friend and Middle-earth aficionado Ian Brodie!
Just last week, Brodie announced during a live interview on Middle-earth Network Radio that he will be undertaking the project of a Hobbit Films Location Guidebook. He has also created a 2012 Middle-earth Calendar that is available for purchase now!
