OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:

HOBBITS EN ROUTE TO SHIRE

Provo, Utah- January 16- The hobbits are heading back to the shire! Brigham Young University advertising students are finally going to be on their way.  John Storey, Jonathan Wright, and Mitch Stevens will leave on January 31 hoping to land roles as extras in the upcoming movie The Hobbit.

These three hobbit hopefuls have spent the past seven months working on the Road to the Shire campaign. This project was a way for students to learn how to use marketing, advertising, and public relations in a real life setting to achieve what has been considered an impossible goal, while also having some fun.

Olo Bracegirdle, Toad and Berilac Bramble, as they are more affectionately called these days, were featured in the New Zealand magazine The Dominion Post as well as BYUTV, an international television network, for their efforts in carrying out this project. Through the use of various social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, they have raised funds and the support of a large fan base in the US and New Zealand that has helped them on their journey to be a part of the new film.

Fans in New Zealand- look out for these colorful characters with hairy feet and pointed ears. If you miss them in New Zealand make sure to watch for their upcoming documentary about their journey to the Shire, release date to be announced in the coming months.

Storey, Wright and Stevens are university students who, like many young adults, grew up with The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit. These three super fans, inspired by their love of Tolkien and the world he created, have turned their hobbit love into a hobbit reality.
