Richard Armitage’s New Film’s With New Line

Richard Armitage, Thorin in The Hobbit, will stay with New Line for his next project.

Richard will play one of the leads in a new, as yet untitled, tornado film says Deadline.  Co-starring with him is Sarah Wayne from Walking Dead.

The film was previously known as Category 6 and is about a group of high school students who document the devastation of a tornado. Richard plays a widowed father who tries to rescue his son from the aftermath of several tornadoes. The movie is set in Detroit and filming starts on 23 July.

The film will be directed by Steven Quale and the screen play is by John Swetnam.
