Design Contest: Treasures of Middle-earth

Gandalf the Grey from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Attention artists! Here’s your chance to show the world YOUR vision of The Hobbit: the Treasures of Middle-earth Design Contest.

Entries will be accepted until October 15, during which time visitors to the site can rate submissions and share them on social media platforms. Each entry must fit into one of the four categories: Characters, Creatures, Weapons, and Locations. (Questions concerning this and other guidelines are thoroughly outlined in the FAQ.)

After the contest is closed to entries, the panel of judges (none other than John Howe, Alan Lee, and Richard Taylor!) will select twenty finalists whose art will be posted and again rated by visitors until the end of October. They will then pick one grand prize winner from each category and announce the final results before the U.S. release of The Hobbit on December 14th.

Each category’s prize is sponsored by either Weta or another equally incredible company. What you win will depend on which categories you enter, so it’s of course best to enter each category in hopes of winning the entire hoard of fabulous prizes.

Well, what are you waiting for? Submit your entries at The Hobbit Design Contest website so we can admire your talent (and your grand prizes).

Share with your Fellowship!
