The Long Road Ahead

After a year of planning and preparations, myself and a group of others are about to embark on a very ‘Long Expected Journey’ to New Zealand. Come next week I’ll be Middle-earth bound, visiting both the north and south islands for 2 weeks.

I’m painfully aware that everyone who’s not joining me on the tour and reads this post is ragingly jealous that they aren’t coming along. I don’t blame you, as I’ll be visiting Hobbiton, arriving in Wellington just in time for ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ Premiere, and going horseback riding in Rohan. To say I’m excited would be a vast understatement.

There is good news in all this, so you can stop pulling your hair and gnashing your teeth, because I plan on sharing my adventures with all of you. Whether through posts, interviews, photos, or videos, I’ll be doing my darndest to keep you updated.

To follow these updates, keep an eye on and follow our Twitter and Facebook accounts. The first post should arrive around November 22, so mark you calendars!

  1. Enjoy the trip! Jealous, of course, that is why I am saving my pennies (as I can) to head down in 50 years of so 😀

  2. Awesome, have a TON of fun, take a million pictures and come back safe 😀

  3. December 22? Surely a typo. I’m pretty sure by December 22nd, many will be watching the Hobbit and probably not so much watching the doings of those in NZ 😛

  4. Fantastic news! Be sure to pop in and see us when you get to Wellington!

  5. Hooray! You are going to have soooo much fun going to Mecca…err…I mean Hobbiton!

  6. Enjoy, I am sure it will be a fabulous experience.

  7. Any NEWS?

    • Arwen has done two posts since her arrival and a video! The titles of the posts are “Hobbits and Airports and Jet Lag, Oh My!” and “Seeing Hobbiton With My Own Eyes.”

I know she has more news for us, but has had spotty internet service. Of course, the whole group is having an AMAZING time!
