The Hobbit Premiere Tour Heads to Japan

The Japanese premiere of  The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey  will take place in Tokyo on 1st December.

Peter Jackson, Martin Freeman (Bilbo), Andy Serkis (Gollum), Richard Armitage (Thorin), Elijah Wood (Frodo) and Hugo Weaving (Elrond)  are all set to attend according to WarnerBros Japan, which also gives news of a press conference and red carpet event.

The premiere will be held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills. Invited guests will have the chance to meet the stars at a Hollywood-style red carpet event and, before the film, Peter Jackson and the cast members will greet them from the stage.

TOHO Cinemas told Middle-earth News,

There will be a premiere for “The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey” on 1st (Sat.) December 2012 at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills with a red carpet entry and greetings from the stage of the director and principal actors

However, it is by the invitation only and not open to the public.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will go on general release in Japan on 14 December. Meanwhile, here’s the Japanese TV spot.
