At the London Premiere of The Hobbit!

How jealous are you of Middle-earth News reporter Evie Bowman right now? She’s on the ground at the London Premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey! She has been tweeting photos of the green carpet (yep, you read that right–it’s green, not red!) and the other preparations going on in Leicester Square in preparation for the arrival of fans, celebrities, and royalty.

Guests confirmed as attending are Sir Peter Jackson, Martin Freeman, Sir Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett, Richard Armitage, Aidan Turner, James Nesbitt, Sylvester McCoy, Sir Ian Holm CBE, Sir Christopher Lee CBE, Jed Brophy, Stephen Hunter, Ken Stott, Adam Brown, John Callen, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, William Kircher, and Graham McTavish.

Unfortunately, though she was originally scheduled for the event, The Duchess of Cambridge will not be attending the premiere due to her pregnancy sickness. The Duke still plans to attend.

Luke Evans (Bard), John Bell (Bain), and Ryan Gage (Alfrid), who are in the second and third films of the trilogy, have tweeted that they will be at the premiere.

To catch a glimpse of Evie and the celebrities, keep an eye on the Leicester Square LIVE webcam feed!

Here are some of the photos that Evie has tweeted. For up-to-the-moment coverage of the happenings in Leicester Square, follow @eviebowman on Twitter. We’ll also be retweeted her on the @MiddleEarthNews Twitter feed.
