From all of us at Middle-earth News, Happy Yuletide!

It’s hard to believe a year ago we were all weeping over the fact that we still had an entire year to go before ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ hit theaters. Yet, here we all are a year later. It’s Yuletide, and we’ve seen the movie!

New Year’s is always a time to reflect, thus I wanted to take a moment in this busy season to stop and thank all those who’ve help shape Middle-earth News into what it is today.

Come January 12th, 2013, Middle-earth News will be celebrating it’s 2nd anniversary. In just 2 years we’ve gone from a small Twitter account to a fully functioning news site, “Tracking all things Middle-earth!” – and it would not have been possible without each and every one of you.

Why did I start Middle-earth News? I wanted a place where I could get great Tolkien news coverage. A place where I could not only find film news, but one where fans like myself could read about Tolkien-inspired art, artists, and artisans, games, and more. Everything that we’ve ever done has had Tolkien fans in mind. What content would you all enjoy the most? Who would you like to read an interview about? What little-known artist can we spotlight and make known to the world?

I believe, without a doubt, it was Tolkien’s passion he poured into his books, and the time he spent meticulously going over the tiniest of details, that we fans exist today.  All his efforts came together to create those beloved books we fans now treasure.

So, it’s with a thankful and humble heart, I raise my glass for a Yuletide toast:

To Professor Tolkien! Thank you, for making Middle-earth come alive for all of us to enjoy!

To our fans! Thank you, for each and every like, follow, and tweet! We are truly grateful.

To the LOTR and Hobbit casts! Thank you, for all the laughs, tears, and memories you gave us through film!

To the news staff! Thank you, for your hard work and tireless effort! With out it, Middle-earth News would not be possible. Here’s to 2013 and beyond!

HAPPY YULETIDE AND NEW YEAR!

…. now, to wait another year until ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ releases in theaters!
