Hunter Hopes To Meet ‘The Hoff’

BomburStephen Hunter is going to Supanova Pop Culture Expo in April and what is he most excited about?

Meeting David Hasselhoff.

“What can I say,” he laughs, “I’ve always wanted to meet The Hoff.”

In an interview with The Northern Star the actor who plays Bombur in The Hobbit says,

“I auditioned for Lord of the Rings, but wasn’t successful. As soon as I heard about The Hobbit, I wanted a crack at it.”

Playing Bombur meant he got to work with Ian McKellen.

“He’s an incredible guy,” Stephen says, “He has such presence.

“He took the time to download pictures of all the cast members and learn their names. He walked in one day and asked where Stephen Hunter was. I was very complimented by that.”

Stephen found meals a problem when he was wearing the dwarf make up and prosthetics.

“It was awkward eating at times. A great way to lose weight. It’s pretty hard to eat with all the hair on your face,” he laughs.

“It’s just so much fun working with Peter Jackson and the crew.

“I’ve made a whole bunch of new mates and watched many a game of rugby with some of them.”

Stephen will be joined by fellow The Hobbit actors Graham McTavish (Dwalin), Dean O’Gorman(Fili) and Sylvester McCoy(Radagast)  at the Supanova Pop Culture Expo on the Gold Coast as part of the  The Magic of Middle Earth expo.

Supanova is at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, April 19-21 2013.

You can find out which dwarves are other conventions here.
