Frodo Now a Playable Character in ‘Guardians of Middle-earth’

Although the hobbit Frodo Baggins would not strike many of us as much of a warrior-type, there’s no doubt that many gamers have wondered why the Ringbearer is not a playable character.

Well, wonder no more! Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that Frodo is now available via DLC on the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade for $1.99 (160 MSP).

“Frodo Baggins is an exceptionally famous Hobbit, best known as the ring-bearer during the Quest for the Ring. As an instrumental member of the Fellowship of the Ring, Frodo’s role in the defeat of Sauron during the War of the Ring made him one of the most famous Hobbits in the history of Middle-earth. He later joined the Elves in Aman to rest peacefully until the end of his days.”

Gameplay Abilities:

Heavy Burden: Gains stealth at the cost of his health

Light of Earendil: Blinds and stuns nearby enemies

Mithril Mail: Frodo briefly shields himself and gains resistances
