The Weta Cave Celebrates 5th Birthday

ThWC5_350e Weta Cave in Miramar, Wellington is a small museum, theater, and merchandise store, but to fans of film across the world, this “Cave” is more akin to a dragon’s hoard.

The Weta Cave theaterette provides exclusive screenings of interviews with Weta co-founders including Peter Jackson and Richard Taylor. The mini-musuem features many props, characters, and displays from films such as The Lord of the Rings, Tintin, The Hobbit, and King Kong. The Weta merchandise store is quite successful and sells a wide range of prop replicas, which attracts collectors from around the world.
