Looking Back at The Hobbit Cast in NZ – Part 2 Plays and Premieres

One of my favourite things from The Hobbit cast’s time in New Zealand, is the “Come and have a go if you think you’re Bard enough” video they took part in, for the New Zealand International Arts Festival in February 2012. I enjoy it even more now I’ve seen the actors on the big screen in The Hobbit.  Here’s Stephen Fry, Jed Brophy, Andy Serkis, Bret McKenzie, John Callen, Stephen Hunter, Peter Hambleton, Luke Evans and Graham McTavish with the soliloquy from Hamlet, “To be or not to be…”

The Hobbit cast enjoyed a night out at the NZIAF in 2012 too, going to see the Frantic Assembly/National Theatre of Scotland production of the play Beautiful Burnout  and meeting the actors afterwards.  Stephen Hunter, Graham McTavish, John Bell, John Callen,  Luke Evans, Martin Freeman,Peter Hambleton, William Kircher, Dean O’Gorman, Andy Serkis and Ian McKellen were all there.

In April 2012, there was the Good for Nothing film premiere at the Embassy Theatre, which many of The Hobbit actors went along to.  Photos via Good for Nothing website and Facebook page.
