New Zealand, the land of the long white cloud, home to approximately 60 million sheep, and Middle-earth. At least, that is what everyone associates New Zealand with these days. Ever since The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, New Zealand and its breath-taking nature became widely known as Middle-earth. It is not surprising that some tourists decide to come to New Zealand primarily  to see LOTR film locations. Even though countless tourists from all over the world came to explore the film locations, the rush decreased over the years. Recent surveys reveal that The Hobbit changed this downswing.

Information gathered from the International Visitor Survey shows that 8.5 per cent of all international visitors surveyed January to June this year said The Hobbit was a factor in their decision to choose New Zealand as their destination.”
