New Editions of ‘The Lord of the Rings’

The Official J. R. R. Tolkien Book Shop released the latest editions of The Lord of the Rings this week.  These beautiful collector’s clothbound editions feature new cover designs and reproductions of all of Tolkien’s drawings and maps, bringing new life to a most beloved story. The books are available for individual purchase (FOTR, TTT, ROTK) and in a 4-book boxset which includes the clothbound edition of The Hobbit.

This boxset is the perfect holiday gift for any Tolkien fan. The perfect gift for anytime of the year I would say. I’ve already added it to my wishlist!

Don’t forget to check out all the items up for sale from the Tolkien Book Shop website.

  1. Beautiful covers! Time to start saving…

  2. I think it’s good to have something new but I miss “real” illustrations.
Luckily, it doesn’t change anything to the story! 🙂

  3. Sorry, but it’s too awful to be truth. What is this covers about? Why there are nothing but butterflies on the “Hobbit”? What are those seaweed-like things on the “Fellowship”? And that “The return of the king” title just sticked over picture haphazardly.
