Orlando Bloom Chats With Entertainment Weekly

In case you missed it, Orlando Bloom sat down with Entertainment Weekly last month to chat about his deep bond with the character of Romeo, whom he currently portrays on Broadway alongside costar Condola Rashad as Juliet.

Since “Romeo and Juliet” is a very well known play, Orlando already had his opinion formed on Romeo, however, once he really got “into it” he said he realized he was actually “quite unfamiliar with the play.”

During the time he spent preparing for the part and actually playing Romeo, Orlando admits that he has indeed become his “heart.” To our relief, he also adds that Legolas, his role in The Lord of the Rings, and now, The Hobbit, still remains his “soul.”

Apart from sharing some wise advice and, of course, remembering to mention his love for “the best, hands down, fans in the world,” Orlando has also named Viggo Mortensen as his biggest influence as an actor.

“He had the biggest impact on me in terms of approach, dedication, intention and artistic outlook…I wouldn’t even put myself in the same category as an actor. Just the person that he was…so wonderful.”

Watch the video below for much more information on how Orlando prepares for his roles and what each of those means to him.
