Ain’t no party like a Hobbit line party! Hey! Ho!

Our The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug line party at Raleigh IMAX this past December 12, 2013, was a definite success, thanks to the swag we received from our sponsors, for IMAX teaming up with us again, and all the fantastic fans who attending the event.

Many showed up in costumes, including Lydia, the winner of our “First in Line” prize package. She came in a beautiful hand-made elven gown of blues, whites, and gold. Everyone I met and talked with had a smile on their face and were anxiously awaiting the start to DOS.

I think my favorite trivia question to ask was, “Can you name all the dwarves in Thorin and Co.?” A lot of effort went into the answers given and it made for some good laughs.

It was fantastic meeting and talking with everyone. I can’t think of a better way to spend a line party than geeking out with fellow Tolkien fans. You bunch are truly amazing!

A word to our line party swag sponsors:

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

Not only do these guys know how to party, but they also know how to print books. Seriously, whether you’re a Tolkien fan yourself, or know someone who is, their site is the place to shop.

HMH, because of your generous amount of Smaug pins and totes, DOS and AUJ books, and book marks, every fan walked away with swag that night. How awesome is that?! You guys rock Middle-earth and we are so grateful for all you do.

Funko

Who doesn’t love Funko?? I get excited every time an email alerts me to their new line of pop vinyl toys. Their merchandise is just too cute not to love.

Funko, thank you for the set of DOS pop vinyl toys!! They were a huge hit with the fans.

Denny’s Diner

For the second year in a row, Denny’s is offering their Hobbit-inspired menu, my favorite being the Hobbit Hole breakfast. Having a place to sit, eat, and discuss DOS with friends is on my list of fun things to do.

Denny’s, thanks for making yummy food and for the coupons and gold Erebor coins!

T-shirts.com

A few weeks back we teamed up with T-shirts.com for a Hobbit tee giveaway. I’m a big fan of geeky tees (no, seriously, I have a ton) and what line party would be complete without proper geek representation?

Two fans got just that during the night of the line party. Thanks for the Hobbit tee swag!

Bridge Direct

While you may not be familiar with their name, you’d recognize their merchandise in a heart beat. Bridge Direct is the maker of all those fantastic Hobbit toy action figures on the store shelves.

Bridge Direct, thank you for the box of DOS action figures!
