Some of us may remember The Lord of the Rings tie-in food and toys Burger King had back when the trilogy was in theaters. Well this time around for The Hobbit, Malaysia has kept up that tradition. Their Hobbit specials are called “Angry Dragon Meals,” and they’re a mouthwatering combination of fire and ice! The stupendous Smaug is the inspiration behind their meals with items such as the “Angry Dragon Beef (or Chicken)” sandwiches and “Angry Onions.”
“Dragons and Middle-Earth adventures infuses an exciting element of entertainment to our Burger King meals this time. The Hobbit, as with the rest of J.R.R Tolkien’s tales on Middle Earth, have a cult following here and worldwide, and to meet expectations we have upped the ante this time with a heavier emphasis on the theme to create a more surreal experience for our customers,” said Keith Loh, the Marketing Director of Burger King Malaysia.
Along with the delicious food, fans also have the opportunity to own a heat changing mug! The are four different mugs available, and once a hot beverage is poured in, the mug turns from black to a Hobbit themed design. “You won’t need Gandalf this time to weave his magic to transform the mugs into images of Legolas, Gandalf, Bilbo Baggins and a Map of Middle Earth. This is certainly an exciting collectible for The Hobbit fans.”
The Burger King Angry Dragon Meals will be available nationwide in Malaysia until 12th January 2014. If you are able, journey to your nearest Burger King and ask for one of these fiery meals!
