‘The Hobbit’ Leads the Way in Jameson Empire Awards Nominations

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
has the top number of nominations in the Jameson Empire Awards and that must, in part, be down to the great number of Middle-earth News readers who voted for it. The Hobbit: DOS received seven nominations followed by 12 Years a Slave with six, Captain Phillips, five and Gravity, four.

But here the real work starts as now you can vote for the winners. The Hobbit nominations are in the following categories:

Best Male Newcomer: Aidan Turner
Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Best Supporting Actor: Richard Armitage
Best Supporting Actress: Evangeline Lilly
Best Actor: Martin Freeman
Best Director: Peter Jackson
Best Film: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

The winners will be announced at the Jameson Empire Awards ceremony in London on Sunday 30 March, 2014.
