Call for Papers: Neglected Aspects of Middle-earth

As reported on the homepage of the German Tolkien Society, the Dutch Tolkien Society has sent out a call for papers on ‘neglected aspects of Middle-earth’ for their upcoming Lembas Extra magazine.

Topics can range from the ‘fauna of Middle-earth’, ‘games and sports in Middle-earth’ to ‘medical aspects of Tolkien’s world’. Almost any topic can be chosen as long as it is on an aspect of Middle-earth which haven’t been analysed too frequently.

An abstract should be submitted to Cecile van Zon (cecilevanzon@hotmail.com) until May 17th 2014. The essay should be written in English and between 5.000 and 7.000 words, including footnotes and bibliography. The deadline for accepted essays is November 1st 2014.
