A new gameplay video for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor has been released, focusing on the game’s Weapons and Rune system. Runes, which are dropped by enemy captains, can be used by Talion to upgrade the effectiveness of his weapons. Players can combine Runes to uniquely improve our hero’s weapons.
Warner Bros. has also announced various retailer-specific pre-order bonuses. Players who pre-order through Amazon will receive the Deadly Archer Rune, which boosts the damage of ranged headshots. Pre-orders through Best Buy will include the Flame Arnor Rune, which adds flames to Talion’s sword and higher attack combos. GameStop pre-orders feature the Captain of the Watch skin – a cosmetic for Talion – and the Hidden Blade Rune, which allows Talion to deal extra damage via stealth attacks. And players who pre-order through Steam will receive the Orc Slayer Rune, which boosts the effectiveness of Talion’s special attacks.
All pre-orders will include the Dark Ranger bonus pack, featuring a new costume and new challenge mode.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is set to launch on October 7 and will be available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.
