Gonzalo Kenny is a visual designer, focused on Digital Illustration and Fantasy Art, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has a number of pieces based on Tolkien and Middle-earth, but his portrayal of Gandalf and the Balrog is definitely our favorite. Check out more of his art at gonzalokenny.com. The Ask Middle-earth Tumblr has released a new downloadable guide titled, “Atanamili: Women of the First Age.” In Quenya, Atanamíli translates into “Mothers of Men,” and this helpful reference shares some fascinating and inspiring stories that deserve more attention that they usually get. If you enjoy this, check out the other downloadable guides from Ask Middle-earth. (spotted by Middle-earth News reporter Alice)

Myla at From the end of bag has kicked off a series called Tolkien Artist Fridays. The inaugural post features the artist Gerwell, whom Myla interviewed for us over a year ago.  Myla is always great at spotting awesome Tolkien-inspired art, so we’re looking forward to this weekly series.
