Ever since December 14, Ringers and Tolkien fans have been anxiously awaiting the release of the teaser trailer for the final installment in The Hobbit trilogy. Every part of Tolkien’s Middle Earth writings have specific authors in the continuity, and Tolkien himself wrote these stories as though he were translating a set of old books into English. This brings up an interesting, and important, question that Gene’O at The Writing Catalog is keen to analyze. Just who is the third person narrator of The Lord of the Rings? In an interview with Vanity Fair, Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner shared that she would love to work with director Peter Jackson of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies. “Apparently he played music during filming [on The Lovely Bones] to get everyone in the mood,” she explained. “And I thought that was a really cool thing. Phil Dragash began a massive project where he read chapters from J.R.R. Tolkien’s magnificent The Lord of the Rings, adding sounds and music, to make it a more “immersive” experience.
