Earlier today, Graham McTavish took to his Facebook page to participate in a live fan Q&A! We captured all of the exciting live action for you!
Lori Jo Humphreys-Basting asked: What’s it like to transform into a man in 18th Century Scotland as opposed to other characters? Is it easy to stay in or come out of character?
Elleinah McCairn Here’s a three part question for you:
1. Out of all the characters you have played thus far, which one did you have the most fun with/is your favourite and why?
2. Out of all the characters you have played thus far, which one did you like the least and why?
3. Who is the one character (one you have not done) from any media source (books, comics, TV, movies, etc) you would most want to bring to life on screen?
Abbi Lacert Whose grumpy pants are harder to fit into (figuratively. Were it literal, I think I could guess), Dwalins or Dougals? And, how do you prep for these sort of iconic (to the reader) rolls?
Susanne Di I got several questions, mostly Outlander related (sorry *g*)
1. Which was the most physically challenging scene you shot for Outlander so far?
2. Who (crew or cast) is the most fun to be around on the Outlander set?
2. Have you read the Outlander book(s) yet or do you only want to work with the script?
3. What kind of books / genre do you like to read? Any recommendations?
4. Where do I get the best cafe latte in London / Glasgow / Edinburgh ?
Roy Roovers Hello graham i wanna say i had such a blast at HC that i got to meet you. And have one qeustion i hope you can answer. My question is what was the biggest challenge in playing Dwalin in the first 2 hobbit films?
Diane Garcia Q&A 6-09-14 Hello Graham, thank you for this time with us. Have the full scripts given you more insight into Dougal , or did you “know” him from the start or from the summary you were given for your audition?
Sarah Caspari Hallo Mister Mctavish i have only a few questions maybe i know later more .
1. when you was a Child Which was your favorite actress/actor? […] 5. what kind of cake do you prefer?
Tamara Crosby Hi Graham! Thanks for allowing us to do this! I have two questions:
If you hadn’t been cast as Dwalin, who would you have like to have been cast as instead?
and What has been the hardest part of your career so far?
Kim Oberg Hi Graham! […] You’ve been around acting for some years now. How was “The Hobbit” experience different from earlier shows?
How has the Outlander experience been in comparison to even the Hobbit? With the fans so involved right from the beginning, has that made it easier? harder? just different?
Lirbes Olerybes Hello! Thanks for letting us ask you a question – it’s really nice! My question: Which superhero could you imagine having made a film about? – With you as the super hero, of course 😀
Alanna Turk While on the set of Outlander, what has been the most fun or challenging thing. Has anything surprised you about being 17th C. Scotland? Thank you so very much!! xo
Saralee Etter Hi, Graham! I read that you wrote a play and performed it. Have you ever thought about writing fiction, either a novel or (another) play?
Penny Young Looking forward to meeting you at Fantasy Con and watching Outlander! If Dougal (and even Dwalin?) time-travelled to 1970’s, what musical groups would they list as favourites? 😉
Meryl Rubin Is there a scene in The Hobbit or Outlander that you wish you could go back and do a reshoot on for any reason?
If you weren’t an actor, what would you be doing?
Mihael Graham Dear Graham! Firstly, thank you so much for this lilttle event here, as it is for us fans really an event! You’re so kind! And my second question as an art history student is: As you have played Vincent VanGogh in Letters from the yellow chair, which part does art take in your life and who is your favourite artist or what is your favourte period of art and why?
Becca Bostwick Estes My question is what is your “go to” way to unwind after a project is finished?
Michele Delgado What are your criteria for choosing to accept or reject a role? (I was just wondering how you structure your career, does each role have to be “bigger” than the last?) Thank you for taking questions.
Sam Ness What is you favourite thing about living back in Scotland atm
JoAnn Rice Weatherly What was your very first acting job? Thanks!
