We are only 90 days away from the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies now! While we anxiously await the long-anticipated theatrical trailer (which is due out sometime next month), this new poster featuring Thranduil has been revealed! Of course our majestic Elf-king is prominently featured along with a better look at his stunning armour. But this poster also gives us a fairly decent view of the elves and possibly a dwarf lying on the ground behind Thranduil. It also appears that the tagline “The Defining Chapter” is here to stay.
Earlier this week, the Battle of the Five Armies tapestry shown at San Diego Comic Con was at long last revealed to us all. This incredible piece of art featured many of our favourite characters and locations. While this new poster is far less detailed, we can hopefully expect more individual character posters to be popping up between now and December.
The great Elf-king himself, Lee Pace, took to Twitter tonight to share his excitement of his character’s new poster.
