Ten Top Tips for Going to ‘The Hobbit’ World Premiere

thehobbit_botfa_poster_marqueeWe’re all getting excited about the world premiere of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies in London next week and, while you can’t buy tickets for the premiere, you can go along to see the stars on the red carpet for free.

Here are our top tips for all of you planning to do just that.

  • Collect a wristband from the ODEON, Leicester Square from 12 noon on Sunday 30 November. Make sure you read this essential info.fromWarner Brothers UK

  • Take something to eat and drink with you. There are plenty of eating places in Leicester Square but going to one may mean losing your place along the red carpet.
  • Bring a friend or make friends with those around you so as you have someone to keep your place if you have to nip off for a while.
  • Check the weather forecast and dress to keep warm and dry.
  • There are toilets in Leicester Square gardens. The women’s is by the M&M’s World entrance and the men’s by the entrance near BurgerKing. There is a charge of 50p and the turnstile accepts 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1, £2, 1Euro and 2 Euro coins and gives change.
  • For AUJ they closed the streets with the red carpet to pedestrians sometime between 4 and 5 pm, so make sure you’ve got your place by then.
  • If you have a picture you want signed, keep it on a clipboard with a waterproof cover. It’s easier to have one picture for everyone to sign rather than different pics for different stars.
  • The cast will almost certainly have their own pens but have one handy just in case.
  • A good time to see the actors can often be when the film is over and they are leaving the cinema.
  • Enjoy yourself! The day is all about having fun and celebrating The Hobbit movie. Remember, there is no guarantee that you will meet any particular star, even if you are their biggest fan or have been waiting for hours. It’s all very much down to luck.

Finally, if you are the lucky winner of a competition to go to the premiere, enjoy the red carpet. You may be able to stay on it for quite a time before going into the cinema and walk up and down and take photos too. When you go into the cinema the interviews with the stars that are taking place outside will be shown on the screen, so you won’t miss out!

We wish all of you going a fabulous time and hope you have fun being a part of this terrific day!
