Peter Hollens Hits High Notes with LOTR’s ‘In Dreams’

When a cappella singer Peter Hollens first teased his newest Lord of the Rings single, I was so excited that he was still finding songs from the films to cover. After all, when he released The Hobbit‘s “The Last Goodbye” earlier this year, he had technically completed all six end credits songs from Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth films. Luckily, the movies offer many songs to choose from, like “Pippin’s Song” (Hollens has already done that one) and the newest release, “In Dreams.”

Sure, it’s Peter Hollens, so we know it’s going to be great, but I loved how he chose a key that both highlighted his tenor voice and paid homage to the song as it was sung in the film by soprano Edward Ross. He even performed the credits music that accompanied it!

When he has finished covering every possible song from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies, I’ll take Peter Hollens a cappella versions of the entire score, thank you very much. In the meantime, I’ll settle for replays of his songs on his YouTube channel, and after purchasing some of his music on iTunes and Loudr, I’ll rack my brain for more Middle-earth songs for him to cover and suggest them on his Facebook and Twitter.
