It looks as if another Fan Film is in the works. Project Silmarillion just posted a teaser trailer of a film project that will deal with the Silmarillion. You can go to their website for more details. In the meantime we’ll be contacting them to find out more about the project and the content. So stay tuned.

“Our goal is to shoot a short-film based on the Silmarillion to show both, visitors of this year’s RingCon and people outside the Tolkien universe, what the Silmarillion is all about. Not only to gain their interest for this subject, but to raise some kind of enthusiasm as well.
Our short (fan)film is about some of the essential core elements of the Silmarillion: the creation of Arda, its people and the role of the Valar and Maiar in the creation of Arda, especially the creation of light and its significance. Arda is the world in which all of Tolkien’s books, like “The Silmarillion”, “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” take place.
To make this project happen, we started by shooting the first part of an approximately 2-minute long teaser for the upcoming short (fan)film with a professional camera and lighting crew in July 2011. This teaser shall wake the audience’s awareness of the subjects described earlier on.”
