If you live in New Zealand, are driving down a highway and just happen to spot a 200 truck convoy traveling down the road with you, then you’re in LUCK! You’ve just seen one of the two massive Hobbit convoys! One of them is in route to Queensland while the other, everybody’s favorite, to Hobbiton.
Shooting is revving up again after a long summer break, giving Martin Freeman (playing Bilbo Baggins) time to film the second season of UK’s TV show, Sherlock. Although Hobbit filming activity has already begun, it’s rumored that the most active period will occur between November 14th through the 22nd. Among the shoots scheduled in November is one on the 6th at Mt. Ruapehu.
Earlier this week it was also announced that the famous “barrel scene” is to be shot this coming Decmeber between the 6th and 16th near Pelorus Bridge.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey premiers December 14 2012 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again hits theaters December 13, 2013.
