Happy Birthday Sir Peter Jackson!

We would like to wish Sir Peter Jackson a very happy 50th birthday! Jackson, born on October 31st, 1961, in Pukerua Bay, New Zealand, is perhaps best-known for his film adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, as well as his upcoming two-part adaptation of The Hobbit, the first of which will be released in December of next year. Previously, Jackson was well-known for his “splatstick” horror comedies, such as Bad Taste and Braindead. He gathered mainstream attention after his film Heavenly Creatures, which was based on true events. Given the natures of these films, it only seems befitting for him to celebrate his birthday on Halloween.
