Members of the cast of The Hobbit were at the Embassy Theatre in Wellington last night for the New Zealand premiere of the film Good for Nothing. Good for Nothing is a cowboy film and is Mike Wallis’s first as director. Wallis also wrote and produced the film.
For a number of years Wallis worked with Peter Jackson in the animation department of Weta Digital, working on The Lord of the Rings, King Kong and Tintin.
Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis and Bret McKenzie were some of the actors from The Hobbit who went along to the premiere. Asked about The Hobbit, Andy Serkis told The Dominion Post,
“We’re right in the heart of it now, right in the belly of the beast. We’re scheduled to finish [filming] in July so there’s a light at the end of the tunnel now.”
Serkis also talked to TV3 News about Mike Wallis and filming in New Zealand.
