Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed how he thinks Smaug will be introduced in The Hobbit. According to Bleeding Cool, the journalist Ann Richardson has said that, in a recent interview Benedict said,
“I think my eye might open at the end of the first film and then you’ll get the rest of me in the second.”
Of course, this was before it was announced that The Hobbit would be be split into three films, but it could still work. It would certainly keep us all busy guessing about Smaug in the intervening months between the first and second films.
