The countdown to world premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in Wellington on November 28 is closing in, and it seems all of New Zealand is preparing for the event.
The residents of Matamata, home of the Hobbiton you see in The Lord of the Rings Films trilogy and will see again in The Hobbit films trilogy, have put their own special twist on celebrations. A newly redesigned i-SITE Gatehouse is being built by Brian Massey, the art director on The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films.

Modeled after the buildings on the Hobbiton set, the new building will have a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony to correspond with the Hobbit premiere and will be presided over by the Prime Minister himself.
