Stephen Colbert is a big fan of The Hobbit so it comes as no surprise to hear that Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report will present four Hobbit-themed nights around the time of the New York premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on 6 December says SheKnows.
Guests will include stars Ian McKellen (Dec. 3), Martin Freeman (Dec. 4) and Andy Serkis (Dec. 6), along with director Peter Jackson (Dec. 5).
Colbert spent time on the set of The Hobbit and has a cameo part in the second or third film.
Peter Jackson has said of Colbert,
“I have never met a bigger Tolkien geek in my life,” saying that Colbert’s “encyclopedic knowledge” of the author is “spectacular.”
Colbert can even speak Elvish, so he may well be trying that out on the Hobbit-themed nights.
