Sneak Peek of ‘Desolation of Smaug’ on Hobbit Blu-ray

Hobbit fans won’t have to wait much longer before they can watch The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in their homes! The theatrical version of the film will be released  in the United States as a digital download on March 12, and the 3-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack ($35.99), the 5-Disc Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack ($44.95), and the 2-Disc DVD Special Edition ($28.98) will hit retailers on March 19.

The extended edition of the film is promised to be released in time for the 2013 holiday season, with most fans expecting it in October. So why would you want to buy this version instead of waiting?
