The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has topped the list for the Saturn Awards with a total of 9 nominations! The nominations were revealed by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films yesterday.
The Saturn Awards are for genre work in film, TV and home entertainment. Life of Pi and Skyfall also received multiple nominations and Warner Brothers received the most for a studio with 23 reports Variety.
The nominations for The Hobbit are:
Best fantasy film
Best actor – Martin Freeman
Best supporting actor – Ian McKellen
Best director – Peter Jackson
Best production Design – Dan Hennah
Best music – Howard Shore
Best costume – Bob Buck, Ann Maskery, Richard Taylor
Best makeup – Peter Swords King, Rick Findlater, Tami Lane
Best special effects – Joe Letteri, Eric Saindon David Clayton, R. Christopher White
The awards will presented in June at a date and venue still to be announced.
