Stars of The Hobbit Martin Freeman and James Nesbitt will join a host of celebrities on Comic Relief’s Big Chat with Graham Norton, where the talk show king will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for ‘Most Questions Asked on a TV Chat Show.’ Norton said, “David Walliams swam the Thames, John Bishop endured a week of hell, and Eddie Izzard ran marathon after marathon after marathon. Actor Mark Hadlow, who played Dori in The Hobbit, will be playing the iconic character Mr. Toad in The Wind in the Willows. The play will run through March 3 at the Christchurch Botanical Gardens. “There could be no more beautiful setting for this classic play, and I can’t wait for the mayhem to begin,” Hadlow said. “We’re having a beautiful summer and a free event like this is a great opportunity for a brilliant family day out and even a picnic. Just bring enough for me.” (Evie Bowman)
Sylvester McCoy, known for his roles as the Seventh Doctor in Doctor Who and Radagast the Brown in The Hobbit, appeared at the Doctor Who convention Gallifrey One 2013. To the delight of the crowd, McCoy jumped off the stage and personally delivered the microphone to fans at his panel session. Moderators Nicholas Briggs and Jason Haigh-Ellery stood in for Prince William and Cate Blanchett while McCoy re-enacted his talk with the Prince at The Hobbit‘s royal premiere, in which he found himself swearing and talking about bird poo.
