We’ve all enjoyed seeing The Hobbit characters and sets Lego have produced this last year. Now the Danish company has announced that their profits have soared and say it’s largely down to The Hobbit.
Lego announced last week that it’s profits were up by nearly 25% and sales up by some 15.5% on last years figures reports masslive.com
Lego Group CEO Jorgen Vig Knudstorp attributed much of the gain to a focus on developing new lines, including those based on The Hobbit.
“It is a highly satisfactory result and better than we expected at the beginning of the year,” Knudstorp said in the company’s annual financial statement. “This is due, first and foremost, to the fact that we were able to develop and launch products that children all over the world have put at the top of their wish lists in 2012.”
