Armageddon Expo was in Wellington yesterday and thirteen members of The Hobbit cast were at the panel session to answer fan’s questions.
Jed Brophy (Nori), Adam Brown (Ori), Mark Hadlow (Dori), Dean O’Gorman (Fili), Aidan Turner (Kili), John Callen (Oin), Peter Hambleton (Gloin), Stephen Hunter (Bombur), William Kircher (Bifur) Graham McTavish (Dwalin) and James Nesbitt (Bofur) all attended along with Sylvester McCoy (Radagast) and Luke Evans (Bard).
The Dominion Post reports that some five hundred fans filled the hall to listen to the cast answer questions like had they stolen anything from the set, which actor was most like their Hobbit character and who was the best dancer .
Mark Hadlow said Peter Jackson had let them take some of the weapons and costumes they had been wearing in the film.
Stephen Hunter said the casting had been “extraordinary,” with each actor sharing some personality traits with their character.
The cast said Aidan Turner was the best dancer. Aidan has represented Ireland in Latin American and ballroom dancing.
Luke Evans, who plays Bard, got sidetracked into talking about Fast and Furious 6, in which he plays the villain. He said he had enjoyed filming The Hobbit adding,
“It’s nice to be in a hit.”

As it turns out, GoldDragonflame whom we have to thank for this vid, made the news herself.
In a poignant moment, she talked to the cast about her cousin who had been a huge Lord of the Rings fan. He had died a year ago and this day would have been his birthday. Her friend then said how Goldendragonflame herself had just turned 21 so all of the cast sang her happy birthday and gave her a hug. She said,
“It’s crazy, because I’ve admired all the actors for so long, it’s definitely been a dream to meet them.”
And here’s that moment again
