Ken Stott: Balin Is The Consigliere Of The Dwarves

It’s rare that we get some news of Ken Stott from the set of The Hobbit, but here he is lending his support for a fan takeover of the Scottish Heart of Midlothian Football Club.

Ken, who plays the wise Balin in The Hobbit, is a lifelong supporter of Hearts (a Jambo, as in jam tart – heart) and has joined the Foundation of Hearts in their bid to buy the club this week.

In an interview with the Scotsman, Ken talks about the football club. When asked about The Hobbit, Ken says that Balin is “the consigliere of the dwarfs”


And would Balin be a Jambo if he escaped Middle-earth and entered our own world?

“More than likely, yes,” Ken said, “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
