James Nesbitt has revealed that his daughters play two of Bard’s children in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
James, who plays the dwarf Bofur, was at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast on Sunday, talking to the audience about his life and work. He was joined by Luke Evans, who plays Bard the Bowman in the film. CandidChaos report that, when the subject of The Hobbit came up, James made the revelation that Bard will have daughters in the film and that they are his own girls, Peggy and Mary. The girls screen tested for the parts independently and Luke described them as ‘naturals on camera, joy to work with for the day.’ Bard’s son Bain is played by Scottish actor John Bell.
The evening was rounded off with James and Luke singing Little Ole Wine Drinker Me
During the evening James also sang The Tender Trap
And Luke sang The First Time I Saw Your Face
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be in cinemas from 13 December, 2013.
