The current cost of making The Hobbit trilogy is more than double that spent on the three The Lord of the Rings films and rising!
APNewsBreak reports that, according to financial documents filed in New Zealand, the cost so far is US $561m. This figure, which includes the amount spent on principal photography, is likely to rise with additional post-production costs, as the second and third movies are completed.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey took over US$1 billion in box office revenues and the second and third films are still to be released.
