Andrew Lesnie, the Academy Award-winning Australian cinematographer of The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit, is to be awarded the Murray Forrest Award for Film Craft at the gala presentation of the 68th Australian International Movie Convention 2013, tonight.
Earlier this week, at the AIMC, Roadshow Films won the Real D Award for Highest Grossing 3D Film in Australia with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. It earned $42.9m. Skyfall won the Coca-Cola Gold Award for the highest-grossing film ($49 m), beating The Hobbit into second place reports The Australian.
