William Kircher and Jed Brophy, will be special guests for an exclusive, youth-only screening of The Hobbit in Queenstown, New Zealand on December 21st . While William Kircher and Jed Brophy will be available for for photographs and autographs for everyone, just a few youths will get the chance to be a part of the screening of the second instalment of The Hobbit. Only 68 tickets will be sold to school-aged children through the Wakatipu Youth Trust.
Based in Queenstown, the youth trust’s Youth Booth is a place for young people to find support from youth workers and volunteers. On their Facebook page, the youth trust explains what their mission is:
To enable young people to have positive outcomes for themselves and to provide a safe and supportive environment and resources for individuals particurly young people to discover their true identity
Rhys Smith, a youth trust worker, told The Otago Daily Times that the exclusive screening “[…] is an amazing opportunity for the youth of the Wakatipu to experience a VIP screening of one of the biggest film franchises in history”. The Middle-earth themed decorated Reading Cinema will be a perfect backdrop for the event, just like Queenstown and various other places in the Otago area have been used as a backdrop for filming locations for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
So, if you’re living in or near Queenstown and are in your school year 7 and up, get your parent’s permission and don’t hesitate to purchase a ticket, they might be sold out sooner than you think!
