The English edition of the Vatican newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano, has published a lengthy essay devoted to the theology of J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings (Click here for the PDF). Interestingly, the essay titled “Fundamentally religious and Catholic” was written by Anglican bishop Davis Moxon, the Anglican Communion’s official representative to the papal office. (Lily Milos)

Because of worries that he would scare children, organizers of the popular event are keen to reassure people their resident Orc is “nice.” The Ipswich Star has a poll on their site, asking readers to weigh in on the topic of scary orcs. Director Peter Jackson has sold his two New York City penthouse duplexes for $19.9 million dollars. The space is 8,309 square feet in addition to 6,000 square square feet outside.
