A few weeks ago, Rentrack, the leader in precisely measuring movies and TV everywhere, announced the top ten digital movie purchases and rentals of 2013. Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was No. 5 on the list while Argo, starring Ben Affleck and Bryan Cranston, was No. 1.
For the list, Internet Video on Demand (iVOD) and Electronic Sell-Through (EST), for both Standard-Definition and Digital HD movie purchases and rentals were measured. In 2013, Electronic Sell-Through (EST) and Internet Video-On-Demand (iVOD) saw significant growth.
