The British charity Barnardo’s has launched a Winter Stock appeal. Barnardo’s shops are in desperate need of quality Autumn and Winter donations. The charity has been launched now because it enables Barnardo’s to gather as much Autumn and Winter appeal in order to keep up with customer demand when the colder weather hits again. Sylvester McCoy, known as the wizard Radagast in The Hobbit trilogy, has taken time off to support Barnardo’s. When asked about the charity, Mr. McCoy said:
I was happy to take the time to get involved in this very important appeal for Barnardo’s. They urgently need donations of pre-loved Winter coats, woollies and accessories to help their stores build the stock they need to sell this Winter. Now that Spring is finally here, it’s the perfect time to clear out Winter items you no longer need!
Items that are desperately needed are including, but not limited to, coats and macs, warm woollies, jumpers, hats, gloves, scarves, and boots and bags. Sylvester McCoy also donated several memorabilia such as a plush hedgehog Sebastian or a signed Dr. Who scarf. A complete list of the items donated for auction by McCoy can be found here.
