James at A Tolkienist’s Perspective has written an intriguing new blog post about the possibility of the Mouth of Sauron being groomed to be a Ringwraith. He points out that by the time our heroes meet the Mouth of Sauron in The Return of the King, the Witch-king of Angmar has already been slain. If the ring hadn’t been destroyed, would a new Nazgûl have been brought forth? Share your thoughts (or shock at the mere mention of the idea) over at his blog! When 11-year-old Vivianne Hamel had a severe allergic reaction after her lunch out near Ottawa Comic Con, she missed the opportunity she had been waiting for–a photo op with Sean Astin from The Lord of the Rings. But Astin heard about her situation, and with some help from the Con’s staff, Vivianne got a chance to get her photo and chat with the star after all. When he asked about the One Ring replica she had purchased at the Con, “He said, ‘keep it away from me Mr. Frodo’ like he did in the movies,” said her mother. “It was her magic moment.” It’s always nice to hear about celebrities and Con personnel who take the extra time to make special moments like these!
