The Metropolitan Festival Orchestra announces that, next June, it will be a continuation of the journey that started last year with the screening of The Fellowship of the Ring accompanied by a live soundtrack at the Star Performing Arts Centre of Singapore, “which was attended by more than 7,000 audience members, the highest number for any single orchestra-based concert production in Singapore in 2013”. The american conductor Justin Freer said: “It is with great pleasure that I am able to return to Singapore to work with the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra in the next instalment of Peter Jackson’s and Howard Shore’s masterpiece, The Two Towers. One of the brilliant film scores in our repertoire performed live on stage and synchronized to one of the great films from our craft will be a concert to remember.”

Executive Producer of the MFO, Dr Kevin Koh, stated: “We are delighted and honoured to be the first Asian orchestra to be presenting the second instalment of this epic production. The response to The Fellowship of the Ring last year was overwhelming, and we have been inundated with questions about bringing The Two Towers to Singapore ever since. We’re proud to announce that we have managed to do this, and look forward to creating another fantastic experience for our audiences this year. As the MFO matures in its second year as Singapore’s first and only fully-independent professional orchestra, these Lord of the Rings concerts reflect our vision to present orchestral performances that connect, inspire and entertain.”

The Two Towers orchestral event will take place on 6-7 June 2014, and the audience will be able, once again, to relive the second film of Peter Jackson’s trilogy, projected on the big screen with original dialogue and sound effects, while 250 musicial of the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra will perform with the Vocal Associates Festival Chorus and Children’s Choir and boy soprano Samuel Yuen.

Another good news is that this year the ticket prices have been reduced by as much as 30% from the last year, and more seats have been made available for publich purchase.

You’ll find more informations about the event visiting the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra official website.
