Olly Wotherspoon created this Hobbit house in his family’s back garden, spending only 14 days and £4,000. He told the Daily Mail, “We live in a normal semi-detached house on a busy road. So we thought let’s just do it and create something cool.” Wotherspoon’s business, Cool Canvas, designs and install bespoke play areas, creating natural environments for children and families to try hands on experimental learning and make creative use of the resources around them that stimulates learning and play. One of our favorite costumers, Brielle’s Costumes, created this beautiful costume inspired by the one worn by Arwen in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Many LOTR fans will know it as the “Chase Dress.” This costume is the third one she has made inspired by the one worn in the movie. Each one is unique and featured a few different things depending on what the customer wanted. You can see her other version here (with the belt buckle) or the curvy sized version here. It’s not strange for Tolkien fans to want to carry the author’s words around with them. Now, thanks to the Muse line of jewelry by Snake and Fawn, you can wear a word written in his own hand. Their adventure pendant is inspired by a 1956 letter from The Professor to the BBC’s Terence Tiller (the producer of the first radio adaptation of LOTR). They picked out the word “adventure,” but they’ll do other custom Tolkien words, too! (spotted by Middle-earth News reporter Lily)
According to The Express, Belgium’s La Balade Des Gnomes hotel is the ideal getaway for Lord of the Rings fans. The room above, named ‘The Legend of the Trolls,” is just one of the resort’s ten nine rooms; other themes include the ‘A Cabin in the Forest’ and ‘Under the Moon.’ Owner Dominique Noel said, “When our customers leave in the morning, they say they were immersed in another world and they want to stay in all the rooms in order to travel through the various themes that we offer.” (spotted by Middle-earth News reporter Evie)
