We love this Dernhelm/Éowyn artwork by Tumblr artist CCCrystalClear! She also made this Hobbit/Wicked crossover piece we find hilariously accurate. (spotted by Middle-earth News contributor Myla)

M & M Theatrical Productions visited Pensford Primary School and delighted students (and teachers) with their performance of The Hobbit. Some of the children dressed up as characters from Middle-earth, and Head teacher Lorna McIsaac, said, “Classes then used the experience to follow up with innovative writing (after finding ‘real’ dragon’s eggs on their tables), clay sculptures and lovely art work.” (spotted by Middle-earth News reporter Lily)

Eric at Sweating to Mordor wonders why Tolkien decided to have Frodo dream about Gandalf’s rescue when the hobbits were resting at Tom Bombadil’s house? It couldn’t be prophetic, he argues: “Gandalf was rescued by Gwaihir on September 18th. Frodo had his dream on the night of September 26th.” Eric shares his wild speculations and welcomes yours over at his blog. (spotted by Middle-earth News reporter Lily)

Happy Hobbit shared a video with the behind-the-scenes of last year when director Peter Jackson shared their video reaction to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug trailer with members of the cast. What can we say? This is pretty much exactly how we would have reacted, too! (spotted by Middle-earth News reporter Alice)
